SDM College of Dental Sciences & Hospital (SDM CDSH), Dharwad, established on 16
September 1986, is one of India's premier dental institutions and a visionary initiative of

Poojya Shri D. Veerendra Heggade. Founded with the mission of providing quality dental
education and oral healthcare services to the people of North Karnataka, the institution is
recognized by the National Dental Commission (formerly the Dental Council of India, New
Delhi), and has grown into a centre of excellence in dental education, patient care, research,
and community service.

Over the years, it has earned a distinguished reputation for academic excellence, stateof-the-
-
art infrastructure, and high standards of clinical training. The institution offers Undergraduate,
Postgraduate, and doctoral programs through its nine specialty departments, equipped with

modern facilities and advanced technologies.

The college provides comprehensive clinical exposure through its attached teaching hospital. In
addition to its specialty departments, SDM CDSH houses several unique centres of excellence,
including a Craniofacial Unit for the management of complex maxillofacial conditions, an

Implantology Unit, a Forensic Odontology Unit, and a Special Health Care Unit.
The institution takes pride in its strong alumni network of over 4,000 graduates. Through its

alumni association, SPANDANA, the college continues to strengthen engagement with its
graduates and foster continuous institutional growth. Its a lumni serving across India and
