1.1.1 Ph.D. in Medicine • Passed with 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in MD / 80
MS / Medical Post Graduate Diploma / M.Sc. in Medical subjects are
eligible for enrolment for Ph.D. course in concerned discipline only
• A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) or an equivalent
relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST /
OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently abled and other categories of
candidates.
1.1.2 Ph.D. in Dentistry • Passed with 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a post 28
graduate degree in Dental subjects (MDS) are eligible for enrolment
for Ph.D. course in concerned discipline only
• A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) or an equivalent
relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST /
OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently abled and other categories of
candidates.
1.1.3 Ph.D. in • Passed with 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in a post 03
Physiotherapy graduate degree in Physiotherapy i.e., MPT degree awarded by this
University or a Master’s degree from other universities recognized as
equivalent by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University are
eligible for enrolment for Ph.D. course in concerned discipline only

relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST /
OBC (non-creamy layer) / Differently abled and other categories of
candidates.
1.1.4 Ph.D. in Nursing • Passed with 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent grade in 12
M.Sc./M.Phil. degree in Nursing awarded by this University or a
College/University recognized by Indian Nursing Council or a post
graduate degree in Nursing considered as equivalent by Shri
Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara university / India Nursing Council
are eligible for enrolment for Ph.D course in concerned discipline of
Nursing.
• A relaxation of 5% marks (from 55% to 50%) or an equivalent
relaxation of grade, shall be allowed for those belonging to SC / ST /
OBC (non -creamy layer) / differently abled and other categories of
candidates.
1.1.5 Ph.D. in • Passed with 55% marks in aggregate or its equivalent in a post 11
graduate degree in Biomedical, Bioscience, Biotechnology,
Biomedical
Biochemistry, Microbiology, Animal Science, Veterinary Science,
Science
Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, allied health sciences and any related life
sciences programs awarded by a recognized college / University
considered equivalent by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara
University are eligible for enrolment for Ph.D. course in concerned
discipline only

Duration: Full time min. 3 years & Part time min. 4 years & in both cases max. up to 6 years from the date of
registration
