SDMRIBS offers postgraduate academic programs and promotes interdisciplinary research in advanced
and emerging areas of contemporary biomedical sciences. The Institute is committed to developing future
scientists and researchers capable of addressing complex healthcare and societal challenges through
innovation, critical thinking, and evidence-based approaches. A strong emphasis is placed on research,
intellectual property development, entrepreneurship, and translational science to ensure meaningful
contributions to society.

The academic programs are designed in collaboration with academic and industry experts, ensuring that
the curriculum remains relevant, contemporary, and aligned with evolving scientific and industry
requirements. Students benefit from the guidance of highly qualified and experienced faculty members
who bring a combination of academic expertise and practical research experience to the learning
environment.

The Institute houses specialized laboratories and research centres, including the Basic Research
Laboratory, Cell Culture Laboratory, Food and Nutritional Laboratory, Clean Grade Room Facility, and the
Centre for Cellular and Molecular Sciences (CCMS). These facilities provide students with extensive
hands-on training and exposure to contemporary research methodologies and technologies.Students are

encouraged to participate in research projects that address real-world problems, enabling them to gain
valuable experience in scientific investigation, innovation, and professional development.

Recognized under the provisions of the SDM University Act and acknowledged by the Karnataka State
Higher Education Council (KSHEC), Bengaluru, SDMRIBS continues to emerge as a centre of excellence in
biomedical sciences education and research, preparing graduates to excel in academia, industry,
healthcare, and research organizations at national and international levels.
