General Campus Information

               Dress Code:
Dress neatly and cleanly. When it comes to clothing, discretion and good judgement should take
precedence. Please follow the advice of the staff and authorities in your behaviour on campus,
keeping in mind that you will be a professional with social responsibilities and a position of respect
and authority in society. A valid ID card is required on campus. The management values the students'
adherence to all rules established in the best interests of the students and the organisation.

               Healthcare Facility:
We care about each student's health. In this regard, SDM University provides each student with a
Health Card that entitles them to subsidised treatment at the SDM Medical Hospital, which is located
on the SDMCMSH campus. Students are advised to contact the Hospital through the Wardens if they
have any ailments or health issues. Vaccinations and an initial health check-up are performed upon
               admission to the SDM Campus.

               Students – Faculty Clubs:
Apart from the Studies and Extracurricular activities, the University has the provision for many
students’ clubs viz. Art & Photography Club, Cultural Club, Literary Club, Nature Club and Music
               Theatre and Dance Club.

               Banking Facility:
The Nationalized Canara Bank Branch is available in the campus with two ATM facilities within the
               campus.

               Hostel & Mess:
All the constituent institutes have hostel facility. Hostels have single/double attached and non-
attached rooms & three/four seater non-attached rooms. Rooms have built in wardrobe and also are
provided with a cot, a computer table, a book shelf and a chair, along with mattress and pillows.
Cable TV is provided in the TV lounge of each residence hostel. Hostel staff consists of wardens,
hostel caretakers and other auxiliary ward staff personnel.

Application for hostel accommodation should be made in the prescribed form which will be made
available at the time of admission to the institute.

All freshmen are encouraged to live on campus unless they commute from home. The primary
reasons for this requirement of student hostels are easier availability and access to facilities, fewer
distractions, and living with others who share common academic endeavours. In short, the institute
believes that living in residence hostels is a good educational practice for students who are new to
campus. However, if living outside is chosen for any reason, full details of where they will be staying
must be reported to the office and approval obtained from the concerned principal. The principal
decides whether or not to offer a student hostel accommodation. Request for change of rooms is not
entertained except for serious reasons which should be placed in writing before the warden. Changes
when possible are ordinarily permitted only at the end of a term subject to availability of an
               alternative.
