Description

BDS stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and it is an undergraduate professional dentistry degree. The BDS program has a duration of four years of academic education and one year of compulsory internship.

Admission to BDS programs in India is often through entrance exams, with NEET being a common exam for medical and dental courses. The curriculum includes subjects related to dental anatomy, oral pathology, community dentistry, orthodontics, and more.

After completing the BDS program, graduates are required to undergo a one-year internship in a recognized dental college. Following the internship, they can register with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the State Dental Council to practice dentistry in the country.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Pass in 10+2 or equivalent examination conducted by Department of Pre-University Education, Karnataka State or any other boards / councils / Intermediate education established by State Governments / Central Government or any recognised two-year Pre-University, with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English, with a minimum 50 % marks scored together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Candidate should complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
