Description
BDS stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery, and it is an undergraduate professional dentistry degree. The BDS program has a duration of four years of academic education and one year of compulsory internship.
Admission to BDS programs in India is often through entrance exams, with NEET being a common exam for medical and dental courses. The curriculum includes subjects related to dental anatomy, oral pathology, community dentistry, orthodontics, and more.
After completing the BDS program, graduates are required to undergo a one-year internship in a recognized dental college. Following the internship, they can register with the Dental Council of India (DCI) or the State Dental Council to practice dentistry in the country.
