The volume, variety and veracity of data generated requires knowledgeable and trained computational biologists to assimilate and extract information to the innumerable enquiries. Computational biology is also crucial for advancing our understanding of complex biological systems by integrating computational and experimental means. This is interdisciplinary field which pivotal in accelerating our understanding of specific needs of the society.

Eligibility Criteria

• A candidate seeking for admission to M.Sc. (Computational Biology) program must have passed a bachelor's degree of minimum 3 years duration in biological sciences (Biomedical Science / Biotechnology / Molecular Biology / Biochemistry / Microbiology / Botany / Zoology / Genetics / Home Science / Chemistry / Physics/ Mathematics/statistics/ computer science) or passed bachelor degree in BE/B-Tech majoring computer science/ biotechnology / Medical / Dental / B. Pharm / Pharmacology/ Animal sciences and any other bachelor degree in life Science from reputed and recognized University/Board recognized as equivalent by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University, with not less than 55% marks in aggregate. Candidates who are currently in the qualify exam are also eligible to apply the M.Sc. (Computational Biology). In such a case, they have to clear it before the finalization of the admission process.
