Description

The Bachelor of Science in Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology (B.Sc Anaesthesia Technology and Operation Theatre Technology) is an undergraduate program designed to train students in the field of anesthesia care, perioperative management, operation theatre management and related technologies.

The curriculum covers a range of subjects related to anesthesia technology, critical care, operation theatre technology, surgical procedures, patient monitoring and patient care. Common courses include anesthesia techniques, pharmacology, anatomy, physiology, medical equipment used in anesthesia, surgical anatomy, sterilization techniques, operation theatre management and perioperative care.

B.Sc Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology programs emphasize the use of advanced medical equipment for patient monitoring. This includes understanding and operating devices such as anesthesia machines, ventilators, and monitoring systems to ensure the safety of patients during surgery & operation theatres, gaining skills in assisting surgeons, managing surgical instruments and equipment, and ensuring a sterile environment.

Graduates of B.Sc Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology programs can pursue careers as anesthesia technologists or anesthesia technicians or operation theatre technologists in assisting surgeons. They play a vital role in supporting anesthesia care teams, maintaining surgical instruments, maintaining aseptic conditions, and handling emergencies during surgeries and ensuring the smooth functioning of anesthesia equipment, and contributing to patient safety during surgical procedures.

B.Sc Anaesthesia and Operation Theatre Technology programs aim to produce skilled and knowledgeable professionals who contribute to the safe and effective administration of anesthesia and safety of surgical procedures in healthcare settings.

Eligibility Criteria

For Regular
  • Pass in 10+2 or equivalent with English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Board, with minimum 45 % aggregate marks or equivalent in PCB.
For Lateral
  • 2 years diploma from a recognized Government Board in a subject for which the candidate desires to enrol, in the respective Allied Health Sciences mentioned course shall have passed plus 12 [10+2] with Physics, Chemistry and Biology, as principal subjects.
OR
  • 3 years diploma from a recognized Government Board in a subject for which the candidate desires to enrol, in the respective Allied Health Sciences course mentioned. should have studied Physics, Biology and Chemistry as principal subjects during the tenure of the course.
