Description
The MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) program is a popular choice for students aspiring to become medical doctors. The duration of the MBBS course in India is generally five and a half years, including a one-year internship. The academic curriculum covers subjects like anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, forensic medicine, and more.
Admission to MBBS programs in India is usually based on entrance exams like NEET (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test). Different states and universities may have their own entrance exams as well.
After completing the MBBS degree, graduates need to undergo a compulsory rotating internship in various specialties to gain practical experience. Subsequently, they can register with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the respective state medical councils to practice medicine in the country.
