Dr. Abhay Matkar: Elected President of Indian Psychiatric Society-South Zonal Branch

Dr. Abhay Matkar, Professor & Head, Department of Psychiatry, SDM College of Medical Sciences & Hospital has been elected as the President of Indian Psychiatric Society-South Zonal Branch for the year 2023-24. He is the first Doctor to be elected from the entire North Karnataka.

After serving in Indian Army, Dr. Abhay Matkar joined SDM Medical College in 2007. He has been the Chairman, Election Commission & Direct Council Member of Indian Psychiatric Society, President of Indian Psychiatric Society-Karnataka Chapter where he has received the best state branch award.
