The 39th Annual Conference of the IRIA Karnataka State Chapter 2024

39th IRIA KSC 2024 Radiology state conference was held from 13/12/24 to 15/12/24

Three Hands-on workshops were conducted on 13/12/24 including Adult Echocardiography, USG Guided Needle Tracking & Neonatal Chest Ultrasound in 2 sessions each at SDMCMS&H in Anubhava Mantapa, Skill Lab & NICU complex respectively. The workshops was inaugurated by Dr.Vijay Kulkarni, HOD Paediatrics & Vice Principal, SDMCMS&H. Each workshop was attended by more than 80 delegates which exceeded far above the initially sanctioned 60 number of delegates. Pre Workshop study material was shared with the delegates a week prior for their preparation. All 3 workshops provided hands-on exposure to all the delegates guided by 3 experienced resource persons in each workshop. They were a resounding success, with positive feedback from all the attendees. The workshops have set a new benchmark for future Radiology Conferences.

Scientifics talks, orations, panel discussions and quiz competition were held on 14/12/24 & 15/12/24 at DVH Kalakshetra, SDM University Dharwad. In addition a record 250 scientific papers were presented in 5 different halls. 240 e-posters were presented. More than 500 delegates registered for the event and it was gratifying to see that they had the opportunity to explore the SDM campus and express their admiration with the aesthetics and Culture of SDM, which made their experience even more memorable.

Faculty and Post Graduates of Dept. of Radiology participated actively in the conference in various capacities.

Dr. Preetam B. Patil, Professor & HOD, Dept. of Radiology, SDMCMS&H gave a talk on “Imaging evaluation of multiple sclerosis and its mimics” and was in-charge of conduct of workshops & also a coordinator in the organising committee.

Dr. Santosh Dasar Professor, Dept. of Radiology, SDMCMS&H chaired a scientific session during the conference and was in-charge of transport and accommodation committee

Dr. Joish Upendra Kumar Additional Professor, Dept. of Radiology, SDMCMS&H Resource person of workshop on Neonatal chest Ultrasound & in-charge of scientific paper and e-poster committee.

Dr. Manjushree, Assistant Professor, Dept. of Radiology, SDMCMS&H gave a talk in the CME for radiographers held as part of the conference & was one of the master of ceremonies.

All our Sr. Residents and Post Graduates also attended the hands-on workshops.

PG residents of dept. of radiology have won many accolades at the event.

• Dr. Anirudh Kulkarni & Dr. Karthik R. won 2nd prize at the state level radiology resident quiz competition held during the conference.
• Dr. Apoorva K.A. won 3rd prize in e-poster presentation among more than 240 entries.
• Dr. Anirudh Kulkarni won 3rd prize in scientific paper presentation among more than 230 presenters.
• Dr. Sheetal Airani & Dr. Rashmi Patil won consolation prize at the state level radiology resident quiz competition held during the conference.

All our Post Graduates presented scientific papers & e-posters during conference and were actively involved in organising the conference in various committees.

Gala dinner with cultural evening was arranged at Ambarai Garden for all the delegates. SDM Faculty & PGs also gave music and dance performances in this event.

Sports events including badminton, table tennis and chess were conducted as part of the conference.
