SDM University celebrates Teachers' Day on 5th September 2025

SDM University celebrated Teachers' Day to pay respect to all its teachers' who have built the SDM Institutions in Sattur, Dharwad. As in the previous years, this year also 3 eminent teachers are felicitated for their outstanding contribution and dedication to the growth of SDM Institutions. Dr Kiran R. Aithal, Prof. & Head, Dept. of General Medicine and Vice Principal, SDM Medical College, Dr Murigeppa S. Kaudi, Reader, Dept. of Prosthodontics, SDM Dental College and Dr Rajeev Lal, Professor and Vice Principal of SDM College of Physiotherapy have been honoured considering their seniority in the respective fields.

Dr Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries of SDM University inaugurated the Teachers' Day celebration by lighting the lamp and VC told that,

• Good Teachers can always build the institutions and they should recognized
• Teachers one who molds their students to become good professionals & respectful citizens of our nation
• Dr Kiran Aithal, Dr Murigeppa Kaudi and Dr Rajeev Lal are the great Teachers & their contribution to SDM Institutions always remembers
• Teachers should also have the intent of learning along with their students
• Education is most powerful weapon of any country for its development
• Education means not just getting the degrees but acquiring new knowledge
• Teachers must create teacher-student relationship and build curiosity & confidence in them
• Students should be taught what to think and how to think meaningfully

Dr Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan, Executive Director and Shri Saketh Shetty, Director Administration and others felicitated Dr Aithal, Dr Kaudi and Dr Rajeev Lal and these three eminent teachers gave the reply to their felicitation.

Shri V. Jeevandhar Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Chidendra M Shettar, Registrar and Shri VG Prabhu, Finance Officer, Principals of all Institutions, Faculty and students in large number were present. Dr Swamy Kalasuramath, Dr Harikesh V. Rao and Dr Elish Jeedi

introduced the awardees. Dr Shriya Gaonkar welcomed the Guests and Dr Soumya compered the program. Ms Ananya Belagali rendered the invocation & Dr Chandani proposed the vote of thanks. Mr Babanna Shettigar, Chief PRO and his team coordinated the Teachers' Day celebration.
