SDM University Celebrated 77th Republic Day

The 77th Republic Day was celebrated in SDM University at SDM Medical College Campus. Dr. Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan, Executive Director and the Chief Guest, Dr. P. Vittal Rao, Emeritus Professor & Senior Consultant, Dept. of Medicine unfurled the tri-coloured National flag.

Dr. P. Vittal Rao, Chief Guest delivered the Republic Day Message and told that:

• Republic Day commemorates the adoption of India's Constitution and the democracy, equality and justice.
• Education is the foundation of national development in India, where diversity is its strength.
• Every Indian must focus to develop in good health and spirituality.
• Students have to ready for the responsibilities of the citizenship and ethical leadership.
• Science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship are all rapidly progressing in India today.

Dr. Chidendra M. Shettar, Registrar, Deputy Registrar, Dr. Ajantha G S, Shri V G Prabhu, Finance Officer, Dr. Kiran Hegde, Medical Superintendent, Principals & Vice Principals of all Constituent Institutions of SDM University, Faculty and Students were present during the function.

Dr. Vijay Kulkarni, Principal, SDM Medical College welcomed the Guests. Dr. Kiran Aithal, Vice Principal introduced the Chief Guest. Dr. Sunil Kumar K. S., Prof. & Head, Dept. of OBG proposed the Vote of thanks and Dr. Aditya Agnihotri, Assoc. Prof. of Pathology Dept. compered the Program. A brief cultural program was organized by the students.
