SDM University Celebrates World Bicycle Day

SDM University, in association with the Hubballi Bicycle Club, celebrated "World Bicycle Day & World Environment Day" alongside the landmark 10th Anniversary of the Hubballi Bicycle Club on Sunday, June 7, 2026.

To mark the occasion, a 10 KM Bicycle Ride was organized for the staff and students of SDM University. The event saw enthusiastic participation, with more than 120 students, faculty members, and dedicated members of the Hubballi Bicycle Club joining the ride to promote health and environmental awareness.

Dr. Mayura Shivalkar, India's first cancer survivor triathlete and Ironman finisher, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. During the program, the dignitaries distributed prizes to the outstanding achievers of the Hubballi Bicycle Club, recognizing their contributions to cycling and fitness.

The event was held in the presence of esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Vijay K. Kulkarni (Principal, SDM Medical College), Dr. Kiran Hegde (Medical Superintendent), and Dr. Mahantesh Matti (Organizing Secretary).

Earlier, Shri Shetteppa Pirangi, Chairman of the Hubballi Bicycle Club, welcomed the gathering. The program was seamlessly compered by Dr. Vaishnavi and Dr. Anagha. Concluding the event, Shri Shivanand Dandavatimath, Secretary of the Hubballi Bicycle Club, proposed the Vote of Thanks.
