Teachers' Day Celebration - 5th September 2026

SDM University celebrated Teachers' Day to pay the respect to all the Teachers' who have contributed in building the SDM Institutions. As in the previous years, this year also 4 Senior Teachers are felicitated considering their outstanding contribution for the growth of SDM Institutions.  Dr Vidya S. Kamath, Professor of Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr. Pushpa S. Patil, Professor of Community Medicine, Dr. Arunkumar JS, Professor of ENT, SDM Medical College and Dr Mahantesh Yeli, Professor Conservative Dentistry and Vice Principal, SDM Dental College have been honoured considering their seniority in the respective fields. 

Dr Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor and other dignitaries of SDM University inaugurated the Teachers' Day celebration by lighting the lamp and VC told that,

• Good Teachers' can always contribute to build the institutions and they should be recognized
• Teachers' mould their students to become respectable professionals & good citizens of our nation
• Dr. Vidya Kamath, Dr. Pushpa Patil, Dr. Arunkumar and Dr. Mahantesh Yeli are to be honoured for their significant contribution
• Teachers should also have the intent of learning along with the students
• Good Education and Respectable Teachers are the powerful weapons for any country
• Education means getting the degrees in addition to acquiring new knowledge
• Teachers must create Teacher-Student relationship and build curiosity & confidence in them

Dr Niranjan Kumar, Vice Chancellor, Smt. Padmalatha Niranjan, Executive Director and Shri Saketh Shetty, Deputy Medical Director and others felicitated Dr Vidya Kamath, Dr Pushpa Patil, Dr. Arunkumar and Dr Mahantesh and these four Senior Teachers responded to their felicitation.

Shri V. Jeevandhar Kumar, Pro Vice Chancellor, Dr Chidendra M. Shettar, Registrar and Shri VG Prabhu, Finance Officer, Principals of all Institutions, Faculty and students in large number were present. 

Dr. Asha Neravi, Dr. Umesh Dixit, Dr Raghunath Shanbhag and Dr Prashant Moogi introduced the awardees.  Mr. Chandan welcomed the Guests and Ms. Vindhya B. Hegde compered the program.  Mr. Varun Sajjanavar rendered the invocation & Dr Ranavari Bhagyasri proposed the vote of thanks.  Mr Babanna Shettigar, Chief PRO and his team coordinated the Teachers' Day celebration.
