Project Technical Support Staff – II (Nutritionist)

Job Description

Applications are invited for the posts in a research project to be filled purely on temporary/contractual basis for a period of 2 years at SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, a Constituent Unit of Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara (SDM) University, Dharwad, Karnataka. 

Place of duty: Urban and Rural field practice areas under the Department of Community Medicine, SDM College of Medical Sciences and Hospital, Dharwad, Karnataka.

Title of the project: “Impact of cost-effective, nutritionally optimized supplement on body composition and functional measures: A multi-centric randomized trial among older adults at risk of malnutrition ( I-CARE Study)”.

Desirable Skills : Knowledge of Computer Applications; Training in a clinical trial and Research Methodology; Good Interpersonal skills, experience in nutrition counselling, life style management programme and ability to work in a team

Roles and Responsibilities :

• He/she should be able to travel in and around Hubli Dharwad for recruitment with other team members.
• He/she should identify and recruit older adults with malnutrition (Data collection)
• Conduct comprehensive study assessment, prepare educational material and be actively involved in administration of the intervention, the lifestyle management (diet and exercise) of the participants including counselling.
• Be responsible for co-ordinating all the physiological and biochemical assessments before and after the intervention of the recruited participants.
• Actively follow up recruited participants and document study related outcomes including data entry into relevant forms.
• Help in data analysis, report and manuscript writing

Salary : Rs 28,000+20% HRA (Rs.5,600) = Rs 33,600 /-p.m

Qualification

MSc Nutrition, GATE/CSIR/-UGC NET or equivalent examination passed candidates will be preferred.
